Warwick es un pueblo histórico situado en el condado de Warwickshire. Éste a orillas de río Avón posee uno de lo castillos más impresionantes de Inglaterra. Ésto es lo más destacable de este pequeño pueblo y lo que hace que numerosos turistas de todo el mundo vengan a visitarlo.
Aparte de el castillo podemos encontrar bonitos parques como San Patrick´s Park o Charlecote Park y numerosos edificios de estilo medieval.
Ubicado en el centro del pueblo de encuentra el Collegiate Church San Mary´s, que es la Torre que vemos en la foto. De todo ello hablaremos a lo largo del post!
Warwick is a historical village located in Warwickshire. This, on the banks of the river, has one of the most popular castles in England. Which is the most remarkable thing in this little village. for this reason, a plenty number of tourist all over the world feel curiosity and come to visit this place.
Apart from the castle, we can find beautiful parks like San Patrick´s Park or Charlecote Park and some medieval buildings. In the city center is the Colegiate Chucrh Sant Mary´s, that is the tower we can see on the top picture. We will talk about all of them along this post.
Es un pequeño pueblo de menos de 7.000 habitantes. Tiene mucho encanto por su castillo, su Río Avón que lo recorre y sus parques. Si tenéis la suerte de disfrutar de un día de sol podréis ir a San Patricks park y alquilar una barquita y dar un paseo agradable por el río hasta llegar hasta el mismo castillo. Las fotos serán fantásticas! Por otro lado si vais en primavera encontraréis muchos árboles en flor como este!
Warwick is a little village. There are less than 7.000 population there. It is charming because of the castle and the river. If you are lucky and you would enjoy a sunny day there, you could go to San Patricks Park and rent a little row boat in the river towards the castle. The pictures will be amazing! On the other hand if you go to Warwick in spring the trees will be in bloom like this beautiful picture!

No tiene un gran numero de sitios para comer ni muchos comercios, pero yo encontré un lugar con mucho encanto al salir del castillo! Su nombre Oken Thomas, no esperéis mucho de él pues es una simple cafetería donde sirven sandwiches, ensaladas , tartas, té y café. Se encuentra en St Castle.
There aren't to many bars or shops but I found a nice cafe when I went out to the castle. The name was Oken Thomas. It is not very good about food. Sandwiches, salads, te and coffes. But the place caugth my attention so I had to stop there! It is located in Castle St.
Un poco de historia...
El castillo de Warwick es un castillo medieval construido a partir de un original de 1068 de madera mota y bailey. Fue reconstruido en piedra en el siglo XII. Durante la guerra de los 100 años la fachada principal fue refortificada dando lugar a uno de los ejemplos más conocidos de arquitectura militar. Fue utilizado como fortaleza hasta principios del siglo XVII. Después la familia Greville, futuros condes de Warwick lo convierten en casa de campo, y en 1978 fue comprado por el Grupo Tussauds.
El castillo de Warwick se ha conservado totalmente intacto. A día de hoy aún se puede visitar y disfrutar de sus torres, murallas, mazmorras y sus salones...

Warwick castle is a medieval castle built from another original in 1068. The original castle was made with wood and was rebuilt with stone in XII century. During the war of ten years, the main facade was refortified causing of the architecture militar most important. The castle was used like a fortress till XVII. century, then Greville family (futures counts of Warwick) became it in a cottage. In 1978 the castle was bought for Tussauds Group. The castle has been preserved intact, so today you could visit it and its towers, walls, lounges, and daungeones.
Cuando digo que merece la pena pagarlos, es porque se podría decir que es más que un castillo, pues se le da vida con personajes de cera, hay espectáculos en vivo, teatros, y atracciones históricas. Todo ello para que nos adentremos en la vida del castillo y podamos viajar por sus distintas épocas históricas.
It could say that is more than a simple castle. The reason is that they create a real-life making wax people and putting them in differents parts of the castle. As well there is theatres, and historical atracctions. All of this to venture us in the castle life and can travel for its different times.
El precio de la entrada del castillo son 25 pounds por persona. Merece la pena pagarlos!

El castillo de Warwick está situado en el centro de las autopistas británicas. lo que ofrece un fácil acceso desde Londres y Birmingham. Está a 20 minutos de Birmingham, a 15 minutos de Stratford upon Avon, la cuna de William Shakespeare, y a 40 minutos de Oxford. El tramo 15 de la autopista M40 une el castillo con Londres. También está bien comunicado por carretera y ferrocarril con el aeropuerto internacional de Birmingham, a unos 30 minutos. También hay trenes directos desde la estación de Merylebone de londres (línea Bakerloo) y dura 1,20 horas. Después te deja a 5 minutos andando del castillo.
